he day before yesterday I had to go to a funeral, as a good friend of mine had passed away September 15 2018.
I had known Günther Hackfort from TTV Lübbecke since 1998; in those days I personally visited the clubs in the communities of Diepholz or Minden every weekday or in the weekends to present my new products of Re Impuls (which was then the name of the brand).
We became very good friends, Günter and I, as we understood each other well from the very beginning. For myself, because I cooperated with him as a trainer for TUS Wagenfeld, and for my brother Eugen, Günter became an important and selfless trailblazer for Re Impuls inventions and later for Re-Impact technology.
Since he had played in major leagues, was a great trainer, and was held in high regard not only in his own club, as a fan of our many inventions he was of great value to me.
Because he was so well networked, he helped me make a super debut, and without him I probably would not have become so prominent so soon. He managed to win the TTV Lübbecke, so that I got a free stand at an important tournament in the big hall in Lübbecke.
Günter remained to be a loyal fan of my blades and selflessly did everything he could to
me in being successful. Günter wanted my inventions to become known nation-wide, and now he is gone.
I have not said my farewells to my friend, for standing at his open grave, that was too much for me.
Instead I took from my left trouser pocket a table tennis ball I had been carrying around for over one and a half years, pocketing it again and again like a key-chain when I changed clothes, and threw it on his flower-covered coffin so that it stayed there, lying amid the flowers.
I think that true friendship endures eternally and that I will see Günter again somewhere, sometime.
Until then, Günter, thank you so much for everything you did for me. I will never forget you and you will always be with me in my thoughts.
Your friend, Achim
